

Over the past 24 years, it has been performed at this historic venue over 8,500 times since it made it’s debut in the UK. The musical debuted at the Lyceum Theatre on October 19th, 1999. The latter renovation is the one that still stands today. It was then rebuilt twice, once in 1834 and again in 1904.

It was originally known as the ‘English Opera House’ before it burnt down in 1830. The Lyceum Theatre is one of the oldest in the world, opening it’s doors in 1765.

It was first performed at the Orpheum Theatre in the United States in 1997, before coming to the UK in October 1999.
